Pinarello can boast 16 victories in the Tour de France to date, which is quite an achievement. They are, along with Bianchi and Colnago, one of the great bicycle manufacturers from Italy. The company was founded in 1952 after Giovanni Pinarello took the Maglia Nera ("black jersey") for the last-place finisher in the Giro d'Italia, for which he received a consolation prize of 100,000 lire, and with which he then opened his own bike store in Treviso. Fortunately, things went better there than in the role of active rider and, even if the beginnings were not easy, it didn't take 10 years for Pinarello to win its first international victory. The titles now came with regularity and later the legendary Miguel Indurain also sat on a Pinarello bike with the Reynolds team. Miguel Indurain won the Tour de France 5 times in his career and also secured the overall victory in the Giro d'Italia 2 times. Furthermore, he also won a Time Trial title in 1995 and a gold medal at the Olympic Games in Atlanta one year later. When it comes to success stories, then you can not really get around Pinarello and to this day, the traditional company is family-run as well as the company headquarters in Treviso, where the high quality bikes have always been worked out.
Pinarello has quite a few competition road bikes in the range, which also includes the Prince, in which one has included the development work of Pinarello Dogma F12. Other road bikes can be found in the Endurance range and under the Supercharged category as e-bikes. The Pinarello Dogma F bikes, such as the Dogma F10 or the Dogma F12 are found in the upper price segment, while the Prince can be purchased with a medium budget.
All Prince bikes exude pure emotion and are high-end road bikes that easily leave many a performance road bike behind, including the high-end bikes of the competition. The Prince is available as Pinarello Prince Ultegra 11S, Pinarello Prince Force eTap AXS 12S, Pinarello Prince Ultegra Di2 12s, among others. Furthermore, Pinarello also has the Prince FX bikes in the range, such as the Pinarello Prince FX Ultegra 11S, Pinarello Prince FX Ultegra Di2 12S or also the Pinarello Prince FX Force eTap AXS 12S.
The bikes all come with the TorayCa T700 UD frameset and the TiCR™ Italian BB cable routing cribbed from the Dogma F12, which in addition to better aerodynamic properties also brings an extremely stylish look. The new Onda Fork has been improved again and optimized in aerodynamics and with the Forkflap™ also provides less drag on the suspension. Another important aspect is, for example, the aerodynamic down tube, whose shape near the bottom bracket has been adapted so that the wind effects on bottle cage incl. bottle are absorbed or directed past it.
Depending on the model, the Prince bikes are available in colors including Grevil, Radiant Red or even Flash Sky, and the frame size is available in up to 9 different variants of the frame set.
In addition to road bikes, which are the flagships of Pinarello, they also offer gravel bikes, mountain bikes as well as urban bikes, which are usually also available for purchase as e-bikes or in some categories are even only available as electric models.
The Prince FX bikes are equipped with the slightly higher quality components, but even the regular Prince bikes do not need to hide in the competition, because they were one of the pioneers, which first made the great Prince FX bikes possible. For this, among other well-known manufacturers such as Campagnolo, Shimano, SRAM, Fulcrum or even Pirelli are considered as suppliers, as well as modules from their own research laboratory.
For the parts for the shifting groups, such as front derailleur or rear derailleur, for example, the Shimano Ultegra, SRAM Force, Shimano Ultegra Di2 or also the SRAM Rival eTap AXS are used. The Shimano Ultegra Di2 as well as the SRAM Rival eTap AXS are both electronic circuits and the Shimano Ultegra Di2 as well as the eTap AXS from SRAM both provide smooth and precise shifting. Especially in older Prince bikes are still often found the circuits of Campagnolo, such as the Campagnolo Ekar or Campagnolo Super Record. Campagnolo is indeed a little further behind in terms of market share, compared to SRAM and Shimano, but provides equally excellent quality and should not be underestimated.
Pinarello Prince Disc in German or Pinarello Prince Disc / Pinarello Prince FX Disc in English stands for disc brakes on the Prince models. Already several years ago was also in the racing bikes more and more converted from rim brakes to the more efficient disc brakes. Both types of brakes each have their advantages and disadvantages and many recreational riders continue to prefer the classic rim brake, as this can be changed quickly and easily at home without special tools, as no great technical know-how is required. If you carry a small multitool with you, even minor problems can be fixed immediately on the road, without having to visit a workshop right away. However, if you are an ambitious rider, you will no longer be able to get around the more efficient disc brakes, as they are now far superior to rim brakes in terms of braking power. In addition, about 20% less force must also be applied, which is particularly noticeable in long distances or high-speed races. In addition, the disc brakes are getting lighter every year and they allow even in wet or muddy ground a well-dosed braking.
When it comes to the cockpit, Pinarello prefers to rely on productions from its own development workshop, such as the Most Lynx saddle, the Pinarello Aero seatpost as well as the Jaguar XA Aero TiCR handlebar or even the Tiger Aero Alu TiCR stem. With the right setting of these 4 components, you achieve the ideal seating position, which in turn provides more driving fun and efficiency on the track. For the handlebar tape can be used, among other things, the Most Ultragrip Evo Bar Tape.
For the wheelset, which includes the rims incl. spokes as well as the hub, partly Pinarello own productions are used, such as the Most Ultrafast 40 wheels or it is relied on the experience of Fulcrum, such as the Fulcrum Racing 500, which despite low weight are also still very stable and have good aerodynamics. For rim brakes, the Pirelli P Zero Race tire is often used and for disc brakes, the Pirelli P7 is often used.
Since pedals are usually not included in the scope of delivery, you should put them elsewhere in the shopping cart, since these are also not available in the Pinarello online store. For women as for men, Pinarello has its own lifestyle collection each and who would like to have more accessories such as a Mutlitool, a water bottle holder or even a small bike bag, which can be put directly in the shopping cart at Pinarello and delivered plus shipping costs.
The Italians around Pinarello offer in addition to the Prince and Dogma bikes even more road bikes, in the areas of competition, Endurance and Supercharged. The competition bikes also include the Pinarello Bolide HR 3D, Pinarello Bolide F, Pinarello Paris or Pinarello TR bikes and for those who want to experience speed paired with comfort, the Endurance bikes, such as the Pinarello Paris, which combines both properties perfectly. The Supercharged bikes are all e-bikes that are available as road bikes, such as the Pinarello Nytro Road and Pinarello Nytro Roadstar, or as gravel bikes, such as the Pinarello Nytro Gravel and Pinarello Nytro Grinta. Furthermore, there is still the Pinarello Nytro Dust MTB, if you also want to times in the forest and in the mountains to enjoy pure nature, with maximum safety and comfort, even if it gets a little bumpier. For those who want to be on the road and off the asphalt equally, gravel bikes are a good solution and as a non-motorized version, Pinarello has the Grevil F in the range, with which you will have fun even on multi-day trips.
Under My Way, a bike can be put together entirely according to your own wishes, with different color variations for different modules and with the brakes, for example, you can choose between rim brakes and disc brakes.
