Pinarello Dogma - A high quality road bike for your joyrides
The Italians around Pinarello were founded in the awakening years after World War 2 in 1952. When Giovanni Pinarello took last place in the Giro d'Italia, he got 100,000 lire as a consolation prize, which he then invested in his own bike store shortly thereafter. The first years were not necessarily marked by success, but Pinarello managed to slowly but ever better reputation and the first international victory was in 1961 at the newly created Tour de l'Avenir by Guido Rosse.
From then on, Pinarello went from strength to strength, winning more titles for the trophy cabinet decade after decade, culminating in the production of bicycles for the Reynolds team, who then signed Miguel Indurain. A rider like Miguel Indurain is the epitome of a champion, winning 5x the Tour de France as well as 2x the Giro d'Italia, the World Time Trial titles in 1995 and the Olympic gold in the 1996 Time Trial the following year.
The quality of the current Pinarello racing bikes can be recognized among other things by their regular appearances at the big tours as well as titles at the TT World Championship. Fillipio Ganna has done it for the second time in a row, winning the TT title for Team Ineos Grenadiers on his Pinarello Bolide TT bike. Fillippo Ganna is a five-time world champion in the single pursuit and has made it to a full 8 medals in UCI track cycling.
The Dogma road bikes are available once Dogma F Red eTap AXS, then as Dogma Dura Ace Di2 as well as Dogma Super Record EPS or also as Pinarello Dogma Custom Built variant. One of the older models is, for example, the Pinarello Dogma F12, as the Pinarello Dogma F12 Disc and Dogma F12 XLight, or even the Pinarello Dogma F8. Pinarello Dogma F Disc stands for the modern disc brakes, while the older models like the Pinarello Dogma F8 are still mostly equipped with rim brakes. In the last 10 years, the Dogma road bikes have been represented more than 5 times in the Tour de France, due to their excellent aerodynamics.
The Dogma F bikes, with the "The Art of Balance" concept, are a successful example of the interaction of all factors, such as the improved handling in harmony with comfort and good aero properties. With this race bike you overcome everything that the track has to offer, whether tough climbs, rapid descents or the sprint at the end of the race. This top performance is due in part to the extremely durable TorayCa T1100 1K Dream carbon frame and its modules, with patented Nanoalloy technology.
The wiring integrated into the frameset allows mechanical shifting groups to be completely hidden in the frame and also wireless circuits can be perfectly installed. In the handlebars, the aero properties have also been improved and it can also be housed there the cables fit, for more power and less wind resistance. With the Flatback frame profile, the aerodynamics have been adapted to the UCI rules and the Onda fork guarantees excellent steering behavior for over 20 years and absorbs the bumps on the track.
Also the Pinarello Dogma F12 Disc was already the official bike of Team Ineos Grenadiers, which guarantees by its low weight and the good stiffness for the successes of the team. In addition, it has excellent aerodynamic properties with excellent feel and agile and precise handling even through tight corners. To meet the aerodynamic requirements, the frame design as well as the fork were further developed and refined to have the same advantage on the track as already the Pinarello Dogma F10.
The fully integrated cabling was one of the biggest advances in the process, resulting in less turbulence. In addition, the bike runs quieter and the cables are better protected inside the frame, making them last longer, so you spend less time on maintenance. To achieve this, the handlebars and top tube in the PinLab have been modified so that the cabling can be housed there as well.
The bikes are available in many different frame sizes as well as colors, such as Electro Lime, Racing Green or even Crystal White and whoever wants to can customize their own bike a bit more under MyWay.
The bikes of the Italian colleagues from Bianchi, for example, are excellently suited to compare the respective models with each other to better classify where the Dogma stands compared to the competition.
The choice of components leaves nothing to be desired
Depending on the Dogma model, there is a different selection of components, which come from Campagnolo, SRAM, Shimano, Pirelli, Fulcrum, Mavic or DT Swiss, among others. In the cockpit, on the other hand, you like to rely on the products from their own development forge.
Derailleur groups & brakes
The Dogma F frameset is available in different variants, which are named after the respective shifting group. The racers are equipped with the Campagnolo Super Record EPS, Shimano Dura Ace Di2 or the SRAM Red eTap AXS, among others. Who chooses a Dogma F Custom Built frameset, can equip his bike individually, such as with a Super Record EPS rear derailleur and a Shimano Dura Ace Di2 shifter, or what preferences you also have. There are no limits to creativity and you can customize the bike perfectly to your own wishes. To do this, it is best to contact the nearest dealer, because the individual selection is unfortunately not available online at the Custom Built, but only via the MyWay selection. In some models, you will also find the Shimano Ultegra Di2, which is slightly inferior to the Shimano Dura Ace Di2, but is ideal for ambitious amateurs from the price-performance ratio.
For the brakes, the same series are also used as the Campagnolo Super Record, Shimano Dura Ace and the SRAM Red. Pinarello Dogma F Disc stands for the use of disc brakes, while just older models are still more often equipped with rim brakes.
Saddle / Seatpost & Handlebar / Wheels
For the cockpit, as good as only the products from our own manufacture are used, such as the Most Lynx Ultrafast Superflow handlebar and the Pinarello Aero seatpost with 3D printed titanium seat clamps. For handlebars and stem, the Most Talon Ultra handlebar with integrated stem is used, which provides full integration of the shift cables. In addition to the ideal seating position, the ideal cockpit also provides a more comfortable riding experience, which also has a positive effect on the joints.
For the wheelset, Campagnolo Shamal Carbon C21 DB, DT Swiss ARC1400 or Fulcrum Racing Zero Carbon wheels are used, among others, and the choice of tires is based on quality made in Italy by Pirelli, such as the Pirelli P Zero Race.
Additional equipment
If you want, you can add a few spare parts or tubes to your shopping cart, or look for the right clothing. Pinarello has a lifestyle collection for men and women, where you can find jackets, caps and hats. Furthermore, you can find plenty of components or accessories, such as bags, multitools in various designs, or simply a bottle cage. If necessary, pedals can also be added to the shopping cart, if the new bike is delivered without, for example, or the used bike has pedals that do not fit your own shoes.
Do I take the Pinarello Dogma F12 or a current Dogma bike?
In addition to the Dogma Road Bikes, there are other road bikes in the Pinarello repertoire, such as the Paris as well as Prince models. For the triathletes and TT riders are different Bolide variants to choose from, or the Maat Italia, which shine through their excellent aerodynamic properties and the associated top speed. Who would also like to get off the road and explore dirt roads into the unknown, which is well supplied with a gravel bike.
