The Bianchi brand from Italy was founded in 1885 by Edoardo Bianchi who opened his first workshop at the age of 20. Fausto Coppi impressed on his Bianchi bike with victories at the Giro d'Italia in 1947 as well as the Tour de France in 1949. Thus the brand gained recognition throughout Italy and later conquered the world market.
With the acquisition in 1997 by Cycleurope Company they established themselves among the top brands in cycling, combining history and cutting-edge technology. Marco Pantani cemented this status with victories in the Giro d'Italia and Tour de France in 1998 and the whole world was enthralled by the "pirate" Pantani. In early 2000 the Celeste jersey returned with Jan Ullrich, his team and Bianchi as the sole sponsor.
Over the past 130 years of the company's history Bianchi became a lifestyle brand and launched the first Café & Cycles in Stockholm. This was followed by one in Milan and another in Tokyo.
