Cube Triathlon Bike- A pleasure for every triathlete
Cube has been offering Bavarian design and engineering since 1993 and, despite growing success, has remained true to its homeland. The company is still based in Waldershof in the Upper Palatinate in the Fichtelgebirge and the bike manufacturer is now represented in over 60 countries worldwide. To keep the distances short and also to be sustainable, the old production building was converted into a showroom. The office building, the showroom and the production and logistics center are also connected by a cycle path for environmentally friendly and comfortable commuting between the departments. Cube also attaches great importance to the use of recyclable production materials, as the standard boxes are made of 100% recycled paper. For e-bike packaging, the proportion of recycled paper is 80%, while the remaining 20% comes from sustainable forestry. This is necessary to better protect the electronic components during transport, once for more stability, but also for better protection against moisture. The Cube Triathlon bikes have been trimmed for the triathlon cycling discipline. Their streamlined design is based on Cube's many years of development work and the wealth of experience gained over the years. The result is an absolutely groundbreaking triathlon bike and time trial bike. Since the regulations for triathlon are different from those for racing, Cube has adapted the racing bikes to the demands of triathletes. The triathlon bike, the time trial bike or the classic road bike are best suited for triathlon. Cube distinguishes between the categories Race, Aero and UCI-compliant. The Aerium C:68, which is available as Cube Aerium C:68 SLT Low, Cube Aerium C:68 SLT High, Cube Aerium C:68 SL Low and Cube Aerium C:68 SL High, has the best aerodynamic properties, which were tested in the wind tunnel. It was designed in cooperation with the Formula 1 experienced team of SwissSide and the end result is one of the fastest triathlon bikes available on the market. Cube worked meticulously with SwissSide to optimize even the smallest detail to perfection, with the aim of achieving maximum performance. Not having to comply with UCI rules also gave them a bit more freedom than the Aerium TT. It literally cuts through the air and still has enormous stability on the track, in turbulence as well as in crosswinds, with the head tube serving as a spoiler. The Cube Aerium C:68 TT time trial bike also has the best aerodynamics and complies with UCI rules. With this bike, your ambitions for medal places will automatically skyrocket. The UCI-compliant carbon frame was manufactured in the Advanced Twin Mold process and gives the bike a streamlined design to complete your laps like an arrow, so that you can only speed past your opponents. The bike impresses with stiffness as well as lightness for maximum riding fun in high-speed races. This was made possible because Cube took the trouble to carry out a number of different CFD simulations. Since the rider is usually in a lying position on the handlebars to achieve the best possible aerodynamics, Cube has adapted the carbon handlebars accordingly to the triathlon bike. In contrast to racing, slipstreaming is prohibited and therefore it is extremely important to get the maximum out of the triathlete's posture. For example, while an MTB Fully has a short frame, which provides agility and safety while riding, a triathlon bike has a longer frame to achieve the highest possible speed. In addition, it has a steeper seat tube, which in turn leads to a higher seat angle that facilitates food as well as drink intake. Another advantage of the more open belly angle is that you can also breathe better while riding. The Cube triathlon bike also has fully integrated cabling in the frame, which not only improves aerodynamics, but also gives the bike a really stylish look. As the cables are less exposed to the weather, they last longer and, as a positive side effect, require less maintenance. A good way to compare the Aeriums is, for example, the Aero and Triathlon bikes from BMC, such as the Time Machine or the Timemachine Road. In addition to the triathlon bikes, Cube has other road bikes in its range, such as the Road Race, Gravel and Cyclocross bikes. They also offer mountain bikes, city & tour, urban mobility, women's and children's bikes.
An excellent selection of suppliers for the components
For the cockpit and seatpost in particular, the company relies mainly on products that have been designed through years of experience and are perfectly tailored to its own frames. For the remaining components, they use market leaders such as Shimano, SRAM, DT Swiss, Schwalbe, Fulcrum and Selle Italia.
Derailleur groups & brakes
The rear derailleur, front derailleur, shift lever and crank are parts of the shifting group that are supplied by either Shimano or SRAM, such as the SRAM Red eTap AXS, SRAM Force eTap AXS, Shimano Ultegra Di2, or the Shimano Ultegra. The braking system is either the Magura RT Aero Carbon rim brake or the Shimano Dura Ace disc brake. Because of the better braking power, the somewhat heavier Dura Ace was chosen for the time trial bike and the rim brakes for the other models because of their lightness. The disc brakes are more complicated to change, but can be better dosed, which is extremely important at high speeds, such as on Time Trail bikes. The extremely light and fast hydraulic Magura rim brakes are the result of a cooperation with Cervélo under the motto "Aerodynamics by Cervélo, Hydraulics by Magura".
Saddle / seatpost and handlebars / wheels
You go for Selle Italia, with the Selle Italia Watt SF Carbon and Selle Italia Watt SF Magnesium, for your choice of saddle, while for the seatpost you go for the Aerium Integrated or Aerium C:68 TT Aero. For the handlebar and stem unit, you go for the CUBE C:68 TT Cockpit System, which ensures that you cut through the wind like butter. When it comes to wheels, there is a comparatively wide choice, with the DT Swiss ARC 1100, Fulcrum Racing 44 or even the Newmen Advanced SL wheelset. Schwalbe Pro One TT Tubeless Easy is a reliable choice for tyres. Thanks to the Super Race carcass and Addix Race Compound, the Schwalbe Pro One TT guarantees maximum speed, through minimal rolling resistance, while impressing with its low weight. The weight saving has been achieved, among other things, by omitting the puncture protection, which in turn means that the tyre must be ridden with sealing milk.
Additional equipment
In the online store, you can also add tight-fitting jerseys, pedals and bottle cages incl. bottle to your shopping cart so that you are also well prepared for your joyrides. If you are looking for a suitable gift but are not one hundred percent sure, then the Cube vouchers, for example, are a good choice.
Which Cube bike to choose if you don't need a triathlon bike after all?
If you need a different bike either for cost reasons or you have simply realized that your main area of use is different, Cube offers many other high-quality bikes. Among the road bikes, for example, you'll find the Litening, Agree, Attain and Axial WS and SL road bikes if you prefer speed on winding roads. For off-road fun, when curiosity gets the better of you and you want to explore some rough back roads, the Nuroad and Nuroad WS Gravel bikes are the perfect choice, which can also be used as trekking bikes. If you like to ride in the mud or simply need a reliable bike for the whole year, the Cross Race cyclocross bike is a good choice. When it comes to mountain bikes, Cube has both a hardtail MTB and a full-suspension MTB category, with plenty of models to choose from. The City & Tour bikes are available as off-road versions with the Nature and Travel series, and as on-road bikes with the Kathmandu, Touring or Ella bikes. For the women's bikes, you can choose either the Hardtail Access WS, Road Race Axial WS or Gravel Nuroad WS bikes, while for the kids you can choose between 3 different frame sizes.
