With so much high speed on your enduro missions you won't want to get off the bike. The bike regularly proves its quality at the Enduro World Series. With Jack Moir in 2021 another EWS overall victory came around. The Canyon Strive is a bike for winners!
Facts
The Canyon Strive MTB is an enduro bike designed for racing and for maximum high speed. Since its first Enduro World Race Series win in 2014 the Canyon Strive mountain bike has never been far from the podium. The riders from the pro teams as well as the EWS mechanics work together to constantly improve the MTB. It is important to them to keep the focus on winning in the Enduro World Series and other competitions. The accumulated World Cup experience flows into the new developments for the next challenges.
The Canyon Strive CFR is equipped with high-end Shapeshifter technology and a 29-inch wheel size. The dampers for a well-adjusted chassis are the suspension fork as well as the suspension on the rear triangle. The Canyon Strive CFR is available in different frame sizes such as in the size L to choose from.
With the Shapeshifter technology you can choose between pedal mode and shred mode. The pedal mode guarantees a more agile and optimized driving on climbs. The shred mode on the other hand allows maximum performance on downhill descents with a chassis that provides the little extra. In shred mode you have a 160 mm travel and in pedal mode a 140 mm travel.
The new Strive also has more smoothness under high speed than all previous models thanks to a flat steering angle with only 63 degrees and an optimized seating position. Usually only downhill bikes have such flat steering angle setting. Due to the 64.5 degree steering angle setting which is possible at the touch of a button with the Shapeshifter technology this applies also to the Canyon Strive CFR.
The new Strive models are the Canyon Strive CFR and the Canyon Strive CFR Underdog. Earlier top models are the Canyon Strive CF 7 or the Canyon Strive CF 8 carbon bikes. There's also the Canyon Strive AL 6 or also the Canyon Strive AL 7 with aluminum frame. The Canyon Strive is a perfect mix of downhill bike and trail bike and guarantees maximum riding pleasure in the bike park.
History
The history of Canyon bikes began with the founding of Radsport Arnold GmbH in Koblenz in 1985. What first started as a supplier developed over the years into a manufacturer of its own bikes. In 1996 the first Canyon bike came on the market and in 2001 they finally made the switch to being a bike manufacturer.
For the components Canyon relies on proven manufacturers. Shimano and SRAM for the groupsets, the suspensions from Fox Racing as well as Ergon and Fizik for the saddle. In addition to other suppliers they also help themselves to in-house innovations.
From the Fox dampers they take the Fox Float X2 Performance, Fox Float X2 Factory Kashima as well as the Fox 38 Factory. Furthermore the RockShox Super Deluxe Select R with 150 mm travel and the RockShox Lyrik Select RC 29" with 170 mm travel are used.
The Fox Float Factory damper foundation is almost the same as with the Fox Float Performance although the latter is the top model. Both convince with reliable performance and are ideal for demanding routes thanks to sensitive response. With the Fox DPX2 piggyback constant performance is guaranteed even on demanding and technically adept descents. There is a wide selection of suspension forks available here. From light XC suspension fork to downhill suspension fork.
New Strive models come with the Ergon SM10 Enduro Comp saddle while you'll also find the Fizik Terra Alpaca X5 on older Canyon MTBs.
For the seatpost the Canyon G5 adjustable dropper post and Iridium dropper post are used. The right seating angle allows for comfortable and soreness-free riding which is especially important in rough terrain.
When it comes to cockpit selection the Canyon G5 handlebar, Canyon G5 stem and Canyon G5 Lock-On grips come into play. The aluminum stem was tested by professionals under the toughest conditions and convinces with durability as well as optical design. The handlebar also shines through its resilience and good ergonomics.
The lock-on grips in turn guarantee you a good grip for more control whether with or without gloves. The associated clamp ensures that the handles remain on the handlebar. This is especially important for your safety on rougher rides which sometimes demand a little more.
When it comes to the wheel Canyon uses the DT Swiss EX511350 wheelset for the Strive CFR. The Strive CFR Underdog also uses a product from the Swiss manufacturer; the DT Swiss EX511 370LN wheelset. For the tire selection they rely on the proven quality of Maxxis: with the Maxxis Minion DHR II 3C MaxxTerra Exo+ and Maxxis Assegai 3C MaxxGrip.
Wheels from Race Face as well as DT Swiss were taken for the Canyon Strive CF models taken among others. Also here the tires the above-mentioned models from Maxxis are used. The Quixle thru axle comes from Canyon's own innovation forge and combines good stiffness with easy handling of the quick release. Thus the wheel can be removed shortly and without tools. The lever integrates itself thereby into the axle once the wheel is fastened.
